Liverpool Mental Health Festival 2018 ended on a high note at the Museum of Liverpool with a showcase for the writers who took part in our TranScripts creative writing course, in partnership with Writing on the Wall & led by tutor Marjorie Morgan, writer-in-residence for Independent Liverpool Biennial & recently shortlisted for the prestigious Kenneth Branagh Award. The course was attended by 10 trans & non-binary writers, some of whom had been writing for years, some of whom were giving it a go for the first time; & all of whom produced jaw-dropping work which made us laugh, cry, gasp & rock back on our heels. The event, with readings by the writers & a performance from D’Ukes of Hazzard, marked the publication of their anthology. An appreciative crowd came to cheer the writers on, & everyone left inspired by the amazing TranScripts writers.
